Health Share appoints Susan Kirchoff, former director of Multnomah County health centers, as Chief Operations Officer
Health Share of Oregon, Oregon’s largest coordinated care organization (CCO), today announced the appointment of Susan Kirchoff as Chief Operations Officer (COO). The former director of Multnomah County’s health centers, Kirchoff most recently served as the Senior Director of Programs for Oregon Health Care Quality Corporation, a non-profit organization seeking to improve health care by producing unbiased information.
“Susan has more than 20 years of experience in health care in the Portland area, including leadership positions at two of Health Share’s founding members, Providence Health System and Multnomah County Health Department. She has served in a variety of strategic planning roles and has a particular ability for gaining consensus among diverse stakeholders,” noted Janet L. Meyer, CEO of Health Share. “I know she will bring great energy and depth of knowledge to our team.”
As COO, Kirchoff will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining both the operating plan and business strategy for the corporation. Her key task will be oversight of the integration of transformation initiatives embodied in Health Share’s Model of Care, Finance, Information Technology and Health Strategy.
She will all have oversight of the compliance and risk management activities of Health Share’s contractual relationships with its affiliates, including the contractual relationship with the Oregon Health Authority. This will also include development of Health Share’s Quality Management Plan.
Kirchoff is not new to Health Share, having served as a facilitator for the model of care development during the early formation of the CCO in 2012. Most recently, as Senior Director of Programs at Oregon Health Care Quality Corporation, Kirchoff was responsible for the development and implementation of a statewide Patient Centered Medical Home Institute on behalf of multiple sponsors and stakeholders. She also oversaw the development of program plans for project strategic planning and sustainability.
Prior to her position at Oregon Health Care Quality Corporation, Kirchoff was the director of health center operations for the Multnomah County Health Department, where she administered operations for a number of health clinics across the county. Kirchoff has also held executive positions with Providence Health & Services and has served on the Oregon Health Policy Board Workforce Development Taskforce. She is also the co-chair of the Oregon Health Authority Patient-Centered Primary Care Home Standards Advisory Committee and a national speaker on patient centered medical home strategies.
